About PTE Exam 2021
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) is one of the most popular English language assessment tests conducted by the Pearson group. It is a three-hour-long test, divided into 3 sections: speaking and writing (together), listening and reading with an optional 10-minute break between the reading and listening parts. The questions may be multiple-choice, essay writing, and interpretation based. As the tests are completely computerized, the PTE results and scores are declared much quicker, typically in 2-5 business days. This makes it aptly suitable for the students in a hurry.
Global Recognition of PTE
Those candidates who desire to study abroad or work in a major English-speaking country, are required to take the PTE Academic exam to prove their English language competency.PTE Academic can be taken at more than 200 centers in over 50 countries. Several prestigious universities such as Harvard Business School,Yale, and Colorado State University, etc. accept PTE Academic scores for admission purposes. You can also apply to universities and colleges in Australia and New Zealand based on your PTE score. The PTE Academic score required by different universities varies across the globe.
PTE Eligibility Criteria
No particular eligibility criteria have been set by the Pearson group for appearing in the PTE exam. However generally, a candidate with a minimum age of 16 years can appear for the PTE exam. But candidates below 18 years of age, require the prior consent of their parents or guardians. There is no limit on the number of attempts made by a candidate. Usually, candidates can appear for the next exam within a gap of 5 days. Also, the conducting body has not mentioned any specific educational qualification requirements for PTE Academic.
PTE Exam Pattern

Section 1
Speaking and Writing
Duration: 77-93 minutes
Components: Personal introduction, sentence restructuring, reading, image description, reiteration, summary, and essay writing (20 minutes).
Section 2
Reading
Duration: 32-40 minutes
Components: Fill in the blanks, MCQs (multiple or single answer based), paragraph reordering.
Section 3
Listening
Duration: 45-57 minutes
Components: Selecting missing words, highlighting incorrect words, dictation, summarizing, MCQs (multiple or single answer based), fill in the blanks.
